Product Overview

IOTA 2030 is a linear polydimethylsiloxane terminated with primary hydroxyl groups at both ends. The presence of these highly reactive functional groups allows it to act as a powerful chemical intermediate. Unlike standard silicone oils, IOTA 2030 can be chemically bonded into polymer backbones (such as Polyurethane and Polyester), creating high-performance silicone-modified block copolymers.

Key Features

  • High Reactivity: The primary hydroxyl structure ensures efficient reaction with isocyanates and organic acids, making it an ideal building block for Si-PU and Si-Polyester synthesis.

  • Surface Modification: Leveraging the "surface-trending" effect of silicone, it significantly lowers surface energy, providing excellent anti-stick, easy-clean, and isolation properties.

  • Enhanced Durability: Improves the wear resistance, low-temperature flexibility, and thermal stability of the host polymer.

  • Processing Aid: Enhances the melt flow and lubricity during polymer processing.

Primary Applications

  1. Anti-Graffiti & Specialized Coatings: Used as a key additive in solvent-based coatings to provide marker resistance and anti-graffiti effects. It creates a surface with "peelable" characteristics, allowing for easy removal of stains and inks.

  2. Polyurethane (PU) Resin Synthesis: Acts as a reactive soft segment to replace traditional polyols, imparting superior hydrophobicity, soft touch, and scratch resistance to synthetic leather and coatings.

  3. Release & Demolding Agents: Functions as a high-efficiency release agent for silicone rubber, polyurethane moldings, and various industrial resins, ensuring clean and easy separation.

  4. Textile & Plastic Auxiliaries: Improves the surface smoothness and physical properties of fibers and engineering plastics.
