Vinyl silicone oil is primarily composed of two types: vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (Vi-PDMS) and vinyl-terminated polymethylvinylsiloxane (Vi-PMVS). These oils can be tailored to different viscosities and vinyl content based on specific requirements. They serve as key raw materials for various applications, such as addition-type liquid silicone rubber and silicone gel. Additionally, they find utility as modifiers, plastic additives, and reinforcement materials in compound rubber.
The versatile applications of vinyl silicone oil include:
1. High-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV): It acts as a base material when combined with cross-linking agents, reinforcing agents, colorants, structural control agents, and aging-resistant agents to produce raw rubber for HTV.
2. Liquid silicone rubber: It is a crucial ingredient in the production of thermoplastic silicone rubber used in injection molding processes.
3. It reacts with organic materials like polyurethane and acrylic, resulting in the creation of new materials exhibiting exceptional properties such as weather resistance, aging resistance, UV resistance, and enhanced toughness. These materials are widely utilized in various coating applications and as modified silicone oil products.
Vinyl silicone oil plays a significant role as a vital raw material in these applications.
