Non-ionic silicone emulsion: The surfactant in non-ionic silicone emulsion is not ionized in aqueous solution, and its hydrophilic group is generally composed of a certain number of oxygen-containing groups (such as polyoxyethylene). It is to premix silicone oil, emulsifier and thickener, then gradually add water to stir, and finally grind repeatedly in a colloid mill until the required emulsion is obtained.
Weakly cationic silicone emulsion: The surfactant in weakly cationic silicone emulsion has a weak positive charge, usually by introducing some weakly cationic groups such as amino groups on the silicone molecular chain. Amino groups will be protonated under certain conditions, making the emulsion weakly cationic. Ruhongqi mercerizing smoothing agent is a weakly cationic silicone emulsion, which is a complex of reactive carboxyl silicone oil and special silicone oil.
Performance characteristics
Non-ionic silicone emulsion
Good stability: It has good tolerance to electrolytes, acids and alkalis, etc. Under different environmental conditions, the emulsion is not prone to demulsification.
Excellent compatibility: It can be used in combination with a variety of auxiliaries and finishing agents, and will not cause precipitation or failure due to interactions between ions.
Good wettability: It can wet the surface of the fabric well, so that the silicone can be evenly spread on the fiber, thereby improving the finishing effect.
Weakly cationic silicone emulsion
Strong adsorption: Because it carries a positive charge, it can interact with the negative charge on the fiber surface through electrostatic attraction, so that it can be more firmly adsorbed on the fiber and improve washability.
Outstanding softness and smoothness: It has a significant effect in giving the fabric a soft and smooth feel, especially for natural fibers such as cotton, linen, wool and their blended fabrics.
Good antistatic property: It can reduce the accumulation of static electricity on the fabric surface to a certain extent, and reduce the phenomenon of fabric dust absorption, pilling, etc.
Application fields
Non-ionic silicone emulsion
Textile industry: used for softening finishing of various fibers, which can make the fabric soft and smooth, and improve the wrinkle resistance and wear resistance of the fabric. It is also commonly used for water-repellent and waterproof finishing of fabrics, etc., and can be compounded with other functional finishing agents to give fabrics multiple functions.
Leather industry: as a softener and waterproof agent for leather, it can make the leather soft, plump, and waterproof without affecting the breathability of the leather.
Papermaking industry: can be used for surface sizing and internal sizing of paper to improve the water resistance, softness and smoothness of paper.
Weakly cationic silicone emulsion
Textile industry: especially suitable for finishing of natural fibers such as cotton, linen, wool and their blended fabrics, such as Hongqigd smoothing agent is often used for super hand finishing of mercerized 37 wool, mercerized 55 wool, all-nitrile and other fabrics.
Printing and dyeing industry: in the post-treatment of fabric dyeing, it can improve the color fastness of dyed fabrics, make the fabrics soft and smooth, and improve the gloss of fabrics.
Daily chemical industry: It is also used in some hair care products and skin care products. Its soft and smooth properties can make hair softer and skin smoother.
Production process
Non-ionic silicone emulsion: Usually, silicone monomers and non-ionic emulsifiers are polymerized by emulsion polymerization under the action of initiators. Non-ionic silicone emulsions with different properties can be obtained by controlling parameters such as reaction temperature, time, and emulsifier dosage.
Weakly cationic silicone emulsion: Generally, silicone polymers with reactive groups are synthesized first, and then weakly cationic groups are introduced into the silicone molecular chain through chemical reactions, and then through emulsification process, a stable emulsion is formed.
