Amino silicone oil: a type of organic silicon compound formed by introducing amino functional groups into the molecular chain of polydimethylsiloxane. Its molecular structure contains active groups such as silicon oxygen bond (Si-O-Si) main chain and amino group (-NH₂). The presence of amino group gives it unique chemical reactivity and performance.
Silicone oil emulsion: an emulsion formed by dispersing silicone oil in water with silicone oil as the main component through the action of emulsifier. Silicone oil is usually polydimethylsiloxane and its derivatives. In addition to silicone oil and water, silicone oil emulsion also contains auxiliary ingredients such as emulsifier and stabilizer to ensure the stability and performance of the emulsion.
Physical form
Amino silicone oil: in the unemulsified state, it is usually a colorless or light yellow transparent oily liquid with a certain viscosity. Depending on its molecular weight and amino content, the viscosity can range from tens to thousands of centipoise.
Silicone oil emulsion: It is a white or slightly yellowish emulsion with a milky appearance and fluidity. Its viscosity is relatively low, and the viscosity of the emulsion can be controlled by adjusting the formula and process to meet the requirements of different textile processing.
Performance characteristics
Amino silicone oil
Excellent softness: The amino group interacts with the hydroxyl group and other groups on the fiber surface, significantly reducing the friction coefficient between the fibers, thus giving the fabric an extremely soft feel.
Good wrinkle resistance: It can form a uniform elastic film on the fiber surface, enhance the flexibility and resilience of the fiber, and make the fabric less likely to wrinkle after being subjected to external forces, and the wrinkle recovery ability is strong.
High yellowing resistance: The amino group in amino silicone oil is prone to oxidation and other reactions under certain conditions, such as high temperature, light or contact with certain chemicals, resulting in yellowing of the fabric and affecting the appearance and color of the fabric.
Silicone oil emulsion
Good smoothness: Silicone oil itself has low surface tension and good lubricity, and can form a smooth protective film on the fabric surface, giving the fabric a smooth feel and improving the wearing comfort of the fabric.
Certain waterproofness: It can form a continuous hydrophobic film on the surface of the fabric to hinder the penetration of water, thereby giving the fabric a certain waterproof performance and improving the water resistance and stain resistance of the fabric.
Good stability: After the emulsification process is made into an emulsion, the silicone oil can be evenly dispersed in the water. It is not easy to stratify or demulsify during storage and use, and has good stability.
Application method and effect
Amino silicone oil: It is mainly used in the softening process of fabrics. Usually, the amino silicone oil is applied to the fabric by dipping or padding, and then after drying and other treatments, the amino silicone oil is cross-linked to form a film on the fiber surface to play a softening and anti-wrinkle role. It can significantly improve the feel and appearance of the fabric, giving the fabric a high-grade soft texture, and is widely used in the softening finishing of various natural and synthetic fibers.
Silicone oil emulsion: In addition to being used for softening fabrics, it can also be used for waterproof finishing, antistatic finishing and other functional finishing of fabrics. In waterproof finishing, silicone oil emulsion forms a waterproof film on the surface of the fabric through processes such as padding or coating to improve the waterproof performance of the fabric; in antistatic finishing, silicone oil emulsion can reduce the resistance of the fabric surface, make static electricity easy to dissipate, and reduce the occurrence of static electricity.
Production process
Amino silicone oil: Generally, amino groups are introduced into the polydimethylsiloxane molecular chain through chemical synthesis methods such as silane addition reaction and amination reaction. The production process requires strict control of reaction conditions such as temperature, pressure, catalyst dosage, etc. to ensure the quality and performance of the product.
Silicone oil emulsion: Silicone oil is mixed with water, emulsifier, etc. through an emulsification process, and silicone oil is evenly dispersed in water under certain stirring speed and temperature conditions to form an emulsion. The key to the emulsification process is to select suitable emulsifiers and emulsification equipment to ensure the stability and particle size distribution of the emulsion.
