Methyl vinyl silicone rubber gum is a special silicone rubber material. It is a high molecular weight polysiloxane compound synthesized by introducing siloxane into vinyl.
Methyl vinyl silicone rubber gum can be divided into two categories, according to the different end groups of the molecules:
Methyl end-capping: The molecular end groups of this type of methylvinyl silicone rubber raw rubber contain methyl groups (CH3). They change the structure of the siloxane by introducing methyl groups during the preparation process.
Vinyl end-capping: The molecular end groups of this type of methylvinyl silicone rubber raw rubber contain vinyl groups (CH2=CH2). The introduction of vinyl groups gives siloxanes different chemical properties and reaction characteristics.
Methyl vinyl silicone rubber gum can be cross-linked at high temperatures to form an elastomer after adding reinforcing agents (such as silica) and other additives. This cross-linked silicone rubber can be used to manufacture various silicone rubber products such as molded rubber, extruded rubber, electrical insulation rubber, and flame retardant rubber.
