IOTA 6080 is a 100% active solid methyl silicone resin based on a stable siloxane (Si–O–Si) backbone structure, designed for demanding electrical insulation and high-temperature protective applications.

It belongs to a methyl silicone resin system (MK-type structural technology route) widely used in industrial insulation, thermal protection, and composite bonding systems.


Product Description

IOTA 6080 is a thermosetting solid silicone resin with excellent thermal stability and film-forming performance. It can be fully dissolved in common aromatic solvents such as toluene or xylene to form a clear and stable solution, making it suitable for coating, varnish, and adhesive formulations.

After curing, it forms a dense siloxane network that provides long-term protection under thermal and electrical stress.

Processing Guidelines

Solvent-Based Formulation

Recommended solvents are toluene or xylene. The resin should be dissolved under stirring with mild heating (≤60°C) until a clear and homogeneous solution is obtained.

Filtration through a 200-mesh filter is recommended before application to ensure formulation stability.


Powder or Dry Blend Systems

Suitable for powder coating or dry mixing processes. Ensure uniform dispersion with fillers and pigments to maintain consistent performance in final applications.
