IOTA 9283 is a fluorine-modified organopolysilazane resin featuring reactive Si–N structures. It is specifically designed for room-temperature curing hydrophobic coating systems.
The presence of Si–NH–Si bonds enables ambient curing through hydrolysis and oxidation. These active groups also react with surface –OH groups of substrates, forming strong chemical adhesion.
With appropriate catalysts, further crosslinking between Si–H and Si–NH–Si forms a dense three-dimensional network, delivering excellent mechanical strength and durability.
Fluorinated functional groups provide outstanding hydrophobicity (water contact angle 110°–120%) while maintaining high optical transparency (>95% visible light transmittance).
