IOTA-EO Terminal Epoxy Polyether Silicone Oil is a dual-active organosilicon epoxy resin intermediate with a unique molecular structure: epoxy groups and polyoxyethylene ether segments at both ends, and a linear polysiloxane segment in the middle. Thanks to the reactivity of the epoxy groups, it can undergo curing reactions with amine-based curing agents, making it widely used as an additive for epoxy resins. Meanwhile, it has become an important intermediate for replacing traditional terminal epoxy silicone oil in the synthesis of block silicone oil.

  1. Excellent substitution performance: As a novel intermediate for organosilicon multi-copolymer block silicone oil, it can completely replace the existing terminal epoxy silicone oil in the synthesis of block silicone oil.
  2. Cost-saving synthesis: The hydrophilic polyether segment is integrated into the structure, eliminating the need for high-cost ED series polyether amines in subsequent block polymerization. It can be synthesized with low-cost organic amines such as D series polyether amines, fatty amines, and alcohol amines, effectively reducing raw material costs.
  3. Environmentally friendly polymerization: The dosage of organic solvents can be significantly reduced to 5%—20% of the product mass (or even solvent-free), enabling uniform and stable reactions. It not only improves product application performance but also reduces organic emissions.

Stable product quality: It has excellent compatibility with organic amines, enabling thorough homogeneous reactions under low-solvent or solvent-free conditions, ensuring consistent quality of finished products. Different molecular weights allow the synthesis of block silicone oil with various hand feels.
  5. Strong modification and adaptability: Quaternized modified products offer better hydrophilicity and stability than ordinary quaternary ammonium salt-modified silicone oil. It can also be applied to water-soluble epoxy resin systems to enhance flexibility and reduce internal stress.
