IOTA-2865H is a silicone oligomer equipped with bishydroxy functional groups, featuring well-defined structural parameters: n=30, m=3, average molecular weight of 4000, and a hydroxyl value of 25.0 (KOHmg/g). Thanks to its unique molecular structure, it exhibits high reactivity with -NCO and -COOH groups, laying a solid chemical foundation for resin modification.
In terms of performance, this product acts as a versatile "all-rounder" for resin upgrading. It can significantly enhance the high wear resistance of resins or coatings, extending the service life of finished products; meanwhile, it endows products with excellent hand feel and slipperiness, optimizing user experience. Its outstanding anti-stick, anti-fouling, and anti-graffiti properties make the surface of finished products easier to clean and maintain. Notably, it boasts good compatibility with various resins, without affecting the inherent properties of the base material. Additionally, its low surface tension effectively promotes coating leveling and flow, improving construction effects.
In application scenarios, IOTA-2865H demonstrates strong adaptability. Its reactivity is comparable to that of polyester diols and polyether diols, allowing it to seamlessly integrate into relevant synthesis systems. It is widely used in synthesizing silicone modified polyurethane resins and emulsions, and also serves as a high-quality modification raw material for two-component PU baking varnishes and amino baking varnishes, providing flexible and diverse solutions for product upgrading in the coating and resin industries.
During usage, its operation method is convenient and flexible. In the synthesis of polyurethane resins and emulsions, it can be added simultaneously with polyol monomers or supplemented in the latter stage of synthesis. For copolymerization with MDI and TDI, the suitable temperature is 85°C, while copolymerization with IPDI is recommended at around 110°C. When used in two-component PU or amino baking varnishes, it only needs to be added to the main resin and dispersed evenly to fully exert the modification effect.
