IOTA 2170 Single-ended Alcohol Hydroxyl Silicone Oil, with the chemical name Single-ended hydroxymethyl polydimethylsiloxane, is a high-performance functional silicone material designed for resin property enhancement. It appears as a light yellow viscous liquid, boasting an active ingredient content of 99.9%, which ensures reliable and consistent performance in various application scenarios. The molecular weight of the product is approximately 2800, and it can also be customized according to customer requirements to meet specific application needs. Available in water-based and solvent-based types, it offers excellent compatibility with diverse formulation systems.
In terms of dosage, IOTA 2170 provides precise adaptability: a dosage of 0.2-1% can impart a long-lasting comfortable feel to the material; 2-6% is recommended for achieving effective antifouling performance; and 1-6% is suitable for resin modification to realize comprehensive property upgrades. As a polydimethylsiloxane-polyether compound with hydroxymethyl as the terminal functional group, it exhibits outstanding compatibility with various polyurethane and amino systems, enabling seamless integration without the need for additional formula adjustments. The terminal hydroxymethyl group can undergo cross-linking reactions with the resin system, introducing silicone components into the resin—especially on the surface.
