IOTA 9283 is a liquid polysilazane with a Si-N structure, featuring methyl and modified fluorine groups. Designed for room-temperature hydrophobic coatings, it cures via hydrolysis and oxidation of Si-NH-Si bonds, ensuring strong adhesion to substrates like metals, glass, and plastics (PP, PC, PVC, PMMA). Its fluorine content provides excellent hydrophobicity (110°–120° contact angle) and high transparency (>95% transmittance).
With low viscosity (2–5 cP), it can be applied by spraying, brushing, or dipping. Curing options include room temperature (24 hours) or accelerated heating (120°–150° for 2–5 hours), yielding a hard (6H), scratch-resistant, and chemically stable coating. It resists oxidation, corrosion, and high temperatures (up to 1000°C for coated substrates, 300°C for varnish).
IOTA 9283 is compatible with non-polar solvents (alkanes, ketones) and resins (epoxy silicone), enhancing curing speed and hardness. Storage requires dry, cool conditions (0–20°C) under inert gas (N₂/Ar). Safety gear (gloves, masks) is mandatory during handling.
