When you touch a soft, skin-friendly T-shirt that looks like new after washing for a long time, or a sweat-absorbent, breathable, and wrinkle-resistant shirt, there is probably a low-key "chemical magician" behind it - ternary copolymer silicone oil. Although traditional silicone oil can bring a smooth feeling, it is like wrapping a layer of plastic film around the fiber, which is not breathable, easy to fall off, and prone to yellowing. So, why is the textile industry increasingly favoring ternary copolymer silicone oil? The answer lies in its clever "three-in-one" molecular design:
Core advantage: Trinity, precise solution to industry pain points
Lock in softness for a long time, say goodbye to the "one-time" touch
Traditional pain points: Ordinary silicone oil is like "coating" on the fiber surface, and it will fall off after a few washes, and the clothes will become harder and harder after washing.
Ternary solution: Reactive groups on the molecular chain (such as special amino groups and epoxy groups) are like "smart Velcro", which can firmly combine with fibers such as cotton, polyester, and wool (forming chemical bonds). The result? The soft effect can withstand more than 30 standard washes, and the clothes will maintain a fluffy and soft "new clothes feeling" for a long time, and say goodbye to the hardening.
Breathable and sweat-absorbent, not stuffy, ending the "static troubles"
Traditional pain points: Ordinary silicone oil (especially amino silicone oil) makes the fiber "greasy", hydrophobic and non-breathable, sweaty in summer, and static crackling in autumn and winter.
Ternary solution: The hydrophilic polyether chain segments (such as EO/PO) carefully introduced into the molecule are like "micro breathing holes" and "moisture conduction channels" installed on the fiber. Treated fabrics:
Excellent moisture absorption and perspiration, sportswear and underwear are dry and non-sticky.
The anti-static effect is significant, saying goodbye to the embarrassment of skirts sucking legs and hair frizzing.
Towels and bathrobes absorb water faster and more thoroughly.
White and non-yellowing, the "guardian" of light-colored fabrics
Traditional pain points: White shirts and light-colored bedding treated with amino silicone oil are prone to yellowing and aging after high-temperature drying or long-term storage, which reduces the sense of quality.
Ternary solution: Select low-yellowing or non-yellowing reactive groups to cut off the chemical reaction chain that causes yellowing from the source. White is long-lasting and white, light colors are as bright as before, and the value of high-end fabrics is firmly maintained.
"Invisible cost reduction expert" on the production side
One dose is equivalent to three things: Traditional processes require softening agents, hydrophilic agents, and antistatic agents to be added separately. Ternary copolymer silicone oil can handle multiple functions in one bottle, saving processes, time, and inventory, and avoiding "fighting" of auxiliaries (compatibility issues).
Strong penetration and low dosage: The molecular structure allows it to penetrate deeper into the fiber, and the dosage is 20-30% less than traditional silicone oil under the same effect, directly reducing the cost per meter of cloth. Heavy fabrics (such as denim) can also be easily softened.
More worry-free production: Good stability, not easy to break emulsion and scale (floating oil) on the machine, reducing defective products and downtime for cleaning, and improving efficiency.
"Double beneficiaries" of consumers and the environment
Extreme touch = reason to buy: In the era of "touch economy", it gives clothes the softness of baby skin and the smoothness of silk, becoming a secret weapon for brands to increase added value and impress consumers.
Easy to take care of means worry-free: Clothes are more wrinkle-resistant and less static, and are easier to restore to flatness after daily wear and washing, which meets the needs of modern people's fast-paced life.
Green potential: Reduced usage reduces wastewater load, some designs are more biodegradable, and improved durability of clothing also reduces the frequency of discarding due to "hardening", which is in line with the concept of sustainability.
