The difference between high hydrogen silicone oil and low hydrogen silicone oil

Hits: 879 img

The difference between high hydrogen silicone oil and low hydrogen silicone oil is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

Hydrogen content:
The hydrogen content of high hydrogen silicone oil is greater than 1.5%; while the hydrogen content of low hydrogen silicone oil is between 0-1.5%.

Performance characteristics:
High hydrogen silicone oil has a large surface tension, good viscosity stability, low acid value, and excellent hydrophobic effect. In addition to the characteristics of dimethyl silicone oil, low hydrogen silicone oil can also form addition and cross-linking reactions due to the active hydrogen.

Application:
High hydrogen silicone oil can cross-link and form a film at low temperature under the action of metal salt catalysts, and can form a waterproof film on the surface of various materials. It can be used as a waterproofing agent for various materials such as fabrics, glass, ceramics, paper, leather, metal, cement, marble, etc., especially for fabrics; it can also be used as an anti-sticking release agent and cross-linking agent for paper, an anti-yellowing agent for high-temperature fluidized silica gel, a cross-linking agent for addition-type silica gel series products, and can also be used to dilute silica gel inks, etc. Low hydrogen silicone oil can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of modified silicone oil and a crosslinker for addition silicone rubber by means of its silane-hydrogen addition reaction.

Waterproof effect:
Generally speaking, high hydrogen silicone oil has better waterproof effect, but it needs to be applied more fully to exert its performance.
